International Spring Makers Conference 2024

During the Wire Fair, the European Spring Federation once again hosted the International Spring Makers Conference on April, 17th, 2024. More than 120 participants took the opportunity to join the Congress to inform about latest news in the spring industry. 
 
The re-elected president of the ESF Paul-Bernd Vogtland welcomed the guests warmly, introduced into the current challanges in Europe and all over the world, and handed over tot he general secretary of the ESF Dr. Michael Hagedorn to guide the guests through the conference. 
 
In the following presentation Dr. Andres Weinrich, VDFI, updated the participants about the current developments in the international standardisation processes. 
 
Connor McCaughey from the IST, Great Britain, gave an inside view into the work of the IST, in particular in the analysis of failures and cracks of springs.
 
Tobias Hain from FRED GmbH showed, how with this tool, small and midcap companies can easily calculate their product carbon footprint, which is becoming more and more important for the requests from customers.
 
Finally Tobias Aldenhoff from Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl informed the audience about trends and challenges of the German and European steel industry.
 
After two hours of interesting presentations, attendees enjoyed finger food and cool drinks during the Come Together and met old and new colleagues around the spring industry.
